About Us

Studio Mission

Kevin Russell is the ceramic artist and founder of The Mad Pottery LLC, a teaching studio created to inspire creativity, learning, and community through the art of clay. The studio is built on the belief that pottery is more than making objects—it is a hands-on experience that encourages self-expression, confidence, and meaningful connection.

At The Mad Pottery, clay becomes a tool for discovery. Russell guides students of all ages and skill levels through the creative process, fostering an environment where experimentation is encouraged and individuality is celebrated. The studio embraces the idea that there is no single path to creating art; every hand, every technique, and every finished piece carries its own story.

Rooted in both craftsmanship and education, The Mad Pottery blends traditional ceramic techniques with a welcoming and accessible approach to learning. Students are invited to explore the transformation of clay—from a simple material shaped by hand into something lasting and personal—while developing both artistic skills and creative confidence.

Through The Mad Pottery LLC, Kevin Russell aims to create more than a ceramics studio. His vision is to build a creative space where people gather, learn, and connect; where curiosity is encouraged, artistic voices are developed, and the process of making becomes just as valuable as the finished work itself.

Kevin Russell Founder of The Mad Pottery LLC

Kevin Russell is a ceramic artist whose work explores the intersection of craftsmanship, material, and personal expression. Through clay, he creates pieces that balance function and artistic storytelling, embracing both the discipline of traditional ceramic processes and the spontaneity that emerges during making. His work is grounded in the belief that handmade objects carry a unique energy—one that reflects the touch, time, and intention of the artist.

Russell is drawn to the transformative nature of clay itself: a material that begins as earth and, through pressure, fire, and patience, becomes something enduring. His forms often reflect an appreciation for texture, movement, and organic imperfection, revealing the beauty found in process and individuality. Whether creating functional pottery or sculptural works, he seeks to produce pieces that invite connection and encourage people to slow down and engage with the objects that become part of everyday life.

Through his ceramics, Kevin Russell aims to create work that is both visually compelling and personally meaningful—objects that honor tradition while leaving room for curiosity, experimentation, and human connection.
